Getting Started

CONGRATULATIONS!! You have just taken the first step towards achieving better mental and physical health and adding some specific and achievable
short term goals to your life!

Here are some great reasons why you should exercise and how exercise on a regular basis may affect your life:

  • Stronger heart
  • Greater endurance
  • Successful competition and/or completion
  • Stronger muscles
  • Stronger bones
  • Thinner body
  • Greater flexibility
  • Better coordination
  • Clearer thinking
  • Happier moods

We exercise for a great variety of reasons and generally women admit that it just makes them feel good and better about themselves.  Control is a very important part of our lives and  the routine of exercise gives us the ability to master a bit of the control that sometimes flies out the window during our daily routines.

Your goal is to train and successfully complete the Freihofer’s Run For Women.  Your coaches will mentor you in any way possible by:

  • Guiding your training
  • Answering questions
  • Providing feedback and support

We believe in YOU and want to make this a successful and FUN experience!

Before you begin……

Since you are starting on a new physical program it is very important to be sure you will be safe in what you choose to do.  If you have not been participating in any regular exercise routine it would be prudent to check with your doctor prior to beginning training.  Although we will be starting out slowly there may be personal reasons why you may need to modify your program based upon your medical history.  Be sure you are in good health and your doctor is aware of the type of exercise you are beginning.  Let your coaches know of any limitations so that they may assist you in modifying your program appropriately.

Anyone with a known background of cardiorespiratory concerns must get clearance from their doctor prior to participating in this program.  Anyone with a known background of ankle, knee, hip, or back concerns should also consult with their doctor.
